Rapper 'Dolla' Killed ...Famous After Death?
Despite the outsize response to Dolla's death, however, many people were just learning about the 20-year-old rapper for the first time. His one hit, "Who the F*** Is That?"[THE IRONY KILLS ME] recorded with T-Pain in 2007, reached Number 82. His follow-up single "Feelin' Myself" was featured on the "Step Up" soundtrack.
"He wasn't a major figure," Sean Fennessey, the music editor of VIBE, told ABCNews.com. "I just didn't know a whole lot about him and I do this for a living." Rapper Chuck D, from the influential hip-hop group Public Enemy, also knew little about Dolla, whose real name was Roderick Anthony Burton II and lived in Atlanta.
"I guess he was up and coming," Chuck D told ABCNews.com. "He had yet to release his album, which is kind of unfortunate. I think it's another unfortunate case of a young man not getting a chance."
Dolla was shot and killed after an altercation outside a Los Angeles shopping mall Monday. Los Angeles police, responding to a report of gunshots fired, found the young rapper suffering from multiple gunshots in a parking lot of the Beverly Center.
Police arrested a suspect, 23-year-old Aubrey Louis Berry of Georgia, at Los Angeles International Airport, according to an LAPD spokesperson. He is being held on $1 million bail.

The Nike RT1 high top sneaker is so dope, the shoe has been doing really well since it's debut a few months ago. Nike is now releasing the RT1 in a new white/purple colorway. NEW News:Lauren London Preganant with Weezy's Baby!
Ok, this is getting serious. Look what theybf.com posted about our girl, believe it or no : A baby New-New is on the way. TheYBF.com has learned that actress Lauren London is indeed 5 months pregnant! This time it’s not just another empty rumor. And that’s the reason we haven’t seen her out and about in the last 3 months. She actually made one appearance since February and it was at the Next Day Air premiere last week. But interestingly, all her pictures were only taken from the bust and up. Back in February, YBF caught up with Lauren and asked her about the pregnancy rumors that were swirling back then–and of course she denied it. But our source–who’s actually a Hollywood celebrity themselves–slipped up in a recent convo with YBF and spilled the beans. As for the father of Lauren’s baby–we’re told she confirmed it’s Lil Wayne! Yes, we’re serious. Remember when we posted exclusive pics of the ex-couple back in Weezy’s hometown of New Orleans? We got further confirmation of Lauren’s pregnancy from a celeb’s manager. Apparently said manager received a movie role for his client after it was first offered to Lauren. When the manager asked why Lauren wouldn’t take the role, the manager was made aware of Lauren’s pregnancy status. NEW News:JOJO ARRESTED!
You probably didn't want to be at "Run's House" on Saturday morning. That's because on Friday night, Joseph Simmons Jr., 19, known to millions as "Jojo," was arrested on Manhattan's Upper West Side after allegedly buying marijuana and trying to run away from the cops, according to a spokesperson for the New York Police Department.

NEW Music: Prynce
I’ve been hearing this joint on Greg Street’s radio show every nite here in ATL for the past couple weeks and I must say it’s nice. Tales of trafficking in damn near every GA town mixed with an incredibly catchy (and surprisingly melodic) hook all carried by an Incubus-esq guitar riff and stuttering live drums make for a very compelling listen. I hear he’s recently signed with Konvict/Def Jam so I’m assuming we’ll be hearing a lot more from him.

NEW Gossip: Kelis & Nas... Hollywood Divorce
Nas' recent step back on the scene maybe a glorified moment for fans, but may also be a bittersweet moment for the legendary MC. A spokesperson for Kelis confirmed that divorce papers were filed around 3:45pm April 30th on Mrs. Jones behalf.
“We request the media to respect her privacy at this very difficult time” a representative for Kelis said in a statement.
A representative has denied rumors that the marriage is ending due to infedelity and verbal abuse.
The spilt comes 7 years after their initial meeting at an MTV Video Music Awards after party thrown by Sean “Diddy” Combs, and only 4 years after their marriage which took place in Atlanta back in 2005.
Despite numerous collaborations and public reassurance of their commitment, rumors of a split began surfacing in March of 2008.
News of the divorce is dropping while the couple is expecting their first child together. Kelis is 7 months pregnant with a son.
